The end of one year and the beginning of a new one provides an excellent opportunity to wipe the slate clean and make a fresh start. Let me make some suggestions on how to make a new start in the new year.

Like PAUL, forget those things which are behind and press forward.

Like DAVID, lift up your eyes to the hills, from which your help comes.

Like ABRAHAM, trust God implicitly, even when you can’t see the outcome.

Like ENOCH, walk in daily fellowship with your heavenly Father.

Like MOSES, be willing to suffer rather than enjoy the pleasure of sin for a time.

Like JOB, be patient and faithful in all circumstances.

Like JOSEPH, turn your back and run away from all evil advances.

Like GIDEON, continue on even when your friends are few.

Like ANDREW, strive to be constantly bringing others to Jesus.

Remember: there’s no future in the past. You can’t change where you were, but you can begin where you are and have a new ending. Should Jesus tarry His coming, may you have a Christ-honoring New Year!
